History of AHEPA Queensland

AHEPA Hall was built by the early Queensland Ahepans in …. and is located in the suburb of West End, the ward of The Gabba in the council of Brisbane, the state electorate of South Brisbane and federal electorate of Griffity.

The fully air conditioned, recently renovated AHEPA Hall can seat up to 250 people comfortably and has a BCC licensed kitchen plus a stage, making it perfect for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, community groups and so much more.

There are many possibilities to configure the Hall – theatre or cocktail style as well. Get in touch to discuss options with our Hall Manager on (07) 3844 9901 and arrange a viewing!

Hourly Hire

$- per Hour (incl. GST)

NB: Friday nights & Weekends: All groups will incur the Individual/Corporate rates.

Hire the Hall by the hour to fit your needs. Discounts are given for cultural or community events, and for not-for-profit events.

Event Hire

Half day (4 consecutive hours) rates of $- (incl. GST)
Full day (8 consecutive hours) rates of $- (incl. GST)

NB: Friday nights & Weekends: All groups will incur the Individual/Corporate rates.

All day and night. This includes kitchen and kitchen equipment, bathrooms, tables and chairs, and use of commercial grade fridges. AV equipment, serving ware and linens are also available.

If the Hall is not cleaned after the event by the Hirer, you will incur a Cleaning Fee of $- (Incl. GST).

Cancellations

Must be received at least seven days in advance of hire.

Securing Your Booking

Hire Agreement Form and a copy of the hirer’s Public Liability Insurance must be received within 7 days of booking.

The Hire Agreement Form will be emailed or posted to the address provided by the Hirer once we have received your online booking request or been contacted by phone.

There is currently no storage for Hirers at the Hall. You may not store items outside of your agreed Hire dates and times. If you need to store items prior or after your event, you must pay the Hire fee for the time you are using the space as storage, as well as for the event times.

Toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing detergent, cleaners and cloths are provided in small amounts. If you hare having a function with more than 50 people, please bring your own.

The Venue Manager, who will then pass information on to the cleaners.

Our Public Liability Insurance only covers AHEPA Hall items. The Hirer’s Public Liability Insurance will cover any items brought by the Hirer.

There are two regular Brisbane City Council waste bins just outside the kitchen door. The Hirer must bring their own bin liners if you are planning on filling the bin with food scraps or messy waste.

The Hirer can contact Brisbane City Council to organise additional bins for the day.

During the hours of 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday, you can contact the Venue Manager.

If it is to do with securing the building or access, you should call the Venue Manager.

No, but proper equipment use and cleanliness should be maintained at all times, and cooking facilities operated by people who are over 18 or supervised by an adult.

Fridge, oven, cleaning items (broom, cloths & cleaning products), cups, cutlery, and a variety of other kitchen items.

Yes, for large, private functions there is a $1000 deposit, refunded after the venue is checked by the cleaner for damage or excessive cleaning needs. We will also ask for the ‘Parties’ rate for any events deemed to be ‘high risk’by AHEPA Hall and the Venue Manager.

All bookings end at 10pm. Alcohol consumption ends at 9.30am.

There can be no sale of individual alcoholic drinks at the venue or we are in breach of our lease agreement with Brisbane City Council and the Hirer can be fined a maximum of $58,900 for a first offence, with increased fines of up to $117,800 or 18 months imprisonment for subsequent offences.

You can provide alcohol free of charge or include drinks in the overall ticket price for your event.

Yes, but you must book for the entire time that your items are stored in the premises as well as the time for the event or function e.g. If you are hiring the venue on a Saturday and need to store your items there from Friday night, you must also book for the Friday evening.

Noise complaints are the responsibility of the Hirers and they must adhere to the requests of the Police and Brisbane City Council.

No candles or open flames are to be used inside the venue.

Yes, as long as they are either acoustic or lightly amplified and must comply with AHEPA Terms and Conditions.

Yest, but no permanent fixtures. All decorations must be removed at the end of the Hirer’s booking period.

If any damage is done to the building from fixing decorations to the venue, the Hirer will be charged for fixing these problems.

If your Community Group is charging people for entry to the event/activity, you must pay the Individual/Business rate.
